Network Marketing List Making and Mishandling

The “Network Marketing List” is central to network marketing in general. However, the “List” is also one of the most difficult, and at the same time, mishandled elements in the marketing process. In this article I will identify the Traditional List and the Online List as well as some do’s and don’ts with each.

The MLM industry, in general, has evolved and that is a good thing. Most of the evolution in marketing techniques has increased the potential for wealth creation for the average person. We have come from the sneak attack on friends and family to a more open and honest attack on friends and family. The problem here is that the attack is still in place. There is a much better way to approach the list if we are interested in building a strong organization with a high retention rate.

The Traditional List

What Not to Do:

To begin with, the list itself can be a powerful tool when used correctly. So go ahead and make the list with everyone you can think of on the list. Once that is done you need to step back and look at the big picture. Going by current industry standards 95% to 97% of those who enroll in an MLM opportunity will fail without proper training. So ask yourself who among your friends and relatives to want to put in that position.

When mishandled, the list itself becomes the problem. Many of the people on this list are not in a good position or will outright reject you offer. That does not mean that you should strike them from the list. It simply means that you have some ground work to do before you bring up the subject with everyone on the list.

  1. Don’t just attack everyone on the list.
  2. Don’t Pre-judge.
  3. Don’t make assumptions.
  4. Don’t remove anyone from the list.
  5. Don’t make the mistake of only pursuing the people who believe are the most likely to get on board.

What to Do:

  1. Build the list and keep adding on to it.
  2. Look for opportunities to connect with people on the list.
  3. Develop relationships.
  4. If you are doing meetings it is okay to invite close friends as long as you have no expectations. Promote, but don’t pummel your friends and family.

Begin by making the list without limiting yourself to certain types of people. You never know where you will find a rising star. It is okay to share your product with some close friends. However, it is best if you hold off on the big sales pitch. If you like the product you can share your experience with your friends.

Online List

There are massive opportunities to build your MLM business online. Anyone who has had success online will tell you that “The List” is one of the most important components. The online list, however, is not based your friends and family. This is a list of like minded people that are at least generally interested in your product or opportunity.

There are far too many online marketing strategies for building this list than I can cover in one article. The fact that there is so much to chose from makes it even more important that you take a little time to consider your options and settle on the method that you are most likely to feel comfortable with, while remaining consistent.

I have outlined a complete strategy that promises domination of Google in a book that is available for free by going to http://www.nmbreakingnews.com .

The central objective in all of the list building strategies is to achieve consistent front page placement on Google. The best list is the one that includes prequalified prospects that you have attracted with a compelling opportunity. I have produced a video on this subject with the same title as this article and you will learn some powerful secrets in online network marketing.
