I joined the network marketing profession in 1979 and over the years have studied and researched well over 1,000 different network marketing companies. Because I am a highly successful network marketer (in the top 1% of income earners in my company) and because I am a published author (of 4 network marketing books), I am often asked about the best network marketing companies. That’s always a hard question to answer. I could give them a list of those companies that have been around the longest, but age doesn’t always mean they are the best. I could give them a short list of the fastest growing, but fast growth isn’t always a sign of the best. I could point them to MLM Insider or MarketWave for their annual list of top companies, but those are popularity contests. Instead of doing any of that, in this article I’m going to give you the tools to recognize the best network marketing companies.
1. Management Team – the best network marketing companies have a solid management team comprised of people who have built large and successful traditional businesses, have had success as network marketing distributors, have a successful track record in domestic and international marketing, have solid values, and a big-time vision that will attract hundreds of thousands and even millions of people.
2. Product or Service – the best network marketing companies have a product or service that is unique. In other words it’s either a one of a kind or there is very little competition. The product or service must be something people will use monthly causing automatic re-orders. It should also be something that is in high demand today and will be for many years to come. If it results an emotional response, that’s a huge plus!
3. Compensation Plan – the best network marketing companies have taken the time to analyze compensation plans in order to offer one that is not only fair to the average part-time distributor, but is also lucrative enough to attract the big hitters. It should offer good enough up front money that a person who only sponsors a hand full of people can cover their monthly product/service cost. A distributor who wants to put more time and effort into his/her business should be able to develop a full-time income within 2 years or less and a walk-away retirement type income within 5 years or less. If the plan includes other incentives like travel and cars that’s a big plus!
4. Training and Support – the best network marketing companies recognize that one of the keys to success is training and support, so they provide excellent online training, as well as webinars and conference calls, and local/regional/national meetings. When you are in a top company they will talk about promoting from event to event, which keeps distributors motivated and building. The training system should be duplicable, so that anyone can do it and it shouldn’t rely on a single person who does all the training. It’s actually best if most of the training is accomplished through video and print, so that even the brand new distributor can train someone else.
5. Marketing – the best network marketing companies offer quality marketing systems and tools. They will offer professionally designed full-color brochures, DVD’s, web sites with capture pages and autoresponder follow-up systems, and business presentation webinars or teleconferences. Again, the system should be duplicable, so that the brand new distributor can start marketing their business before they know anything.
